Suthep to invoke Internal Security Act to deal with protesters if violence braks out

Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban said Friday that the government will invoke the Internal Security Act to deal with the protesters if they turn violent during the planned mass rally on Saturday.

He said a directive under the act has been drafted and ready to be enforced if necessary.

He said security officials will make sure that key government offices, such as the Government House and Parliament will not be besieged.

He said the officials must make sure that Government House officials and Cabinet members can attend their office regularly.
