Ancient turtle named in HM's honour
The recently discovered ancient land turtle species has been given the Greek name, Basilochelys macrobios, in honour of His Majesty the King. The name can be translated into "Long Live the King".
"This species roamed the Earth about 150 million years ago in the late Jurassic period," Mineral Resource Department directorgeneral Adisak Thongkaimook said Monday.
