Lampang - Some 100 supporters of former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra gathered at the provincial hall here Monday afternoon to show their solidarity with protesters at the Government House.

Their leaders said hundreds more would join them in the evening.

Lampang provincial police chief Pol Maj Gen Atthakij Kornthong said he had deployed some 300 policemen to keep order at the provincial hall.
