Bt134 billion to be sought for boosting healthcare scheme



The National Health Security Office (NHSO) is planing to ask the government to approve the budget Bt 134 billion to boost the universal health care scheme for the next fiscal year in 2010,  said the Health Minister, Wittaya Kaewparadia who chair the NHSO's board member.

Under the plan, the universal health care coverage per capita will increase from Bt 2,202  to Bt 2,694, he added.

The NSHO's proposal to increase its budget would support million unemployed workers who register with the Social Security Office and would transfer to the NHSO in the next six months, said Wittaya who chair the NHSO's board member.
