Red-shirt people demand Kasit's removal

Leaders of the anti-Democrat "red-shirt people" demanded Monday that Foreign Minister Kasit Piromya be removed in exchange for cancellation of their planned rally during the summit of Asean leaders Thailand is hosting in late February.

They also resolved to begin a campaign to amend the Constitution of 2007 and to press for the government to expedite the legal action against leaders of the People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) for its takeover of Government House and Bangkok's two airports.

About 100 representatives of the Democratic Alliance Against Dictatorship (DAAD) from 15 provinces met at the Mido Hotel yesterday to discuss about the group's next moves.
