Surat Thani - There are three suspects in the murder case of a female foreign tourist on Ko Phangan, local police said Monday.

Anstril An Anssad Chavaner, 45, was found dead on Sunday with bruises around her neck and her body topless.

The German tourist had stayed on Ko Phangan - a tourist island famous for full-moon parties - since December 10 last year. In 2007, she also spent her four-month vacation on this island.

"All three suspects are local people," Ko Phangan Police Station superintendent Colonel Charoon Uchuparp said yesterday.

He declined to give more details.
