Two soldiers injured in Yala explosion



Yala - Two soldiers were injured when insurgents detonated a bomb on a road to ambush them Friday morning.

The explosion occurred on a road island of a road in front of a petrol station in Moo 7 village of Tambon Krongpenang in Krongpenang district at 8:25 am.

Police said four soldiers on two motorcycles were riding past the spot and the insurgents detonated the bomb to attack them.

Sgt Anuchit Thansopha's right arm was broke and Pvt Sarawut Kaewket was hit with shrapnel on his body and legs. The two were rushed to the Yala hospital.

Police took five young men for questioning after finding gunpowder trace on them.
