A group of some 30 small parties Monday asked caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra to go ahead with the February 2 election.
Thai Rak Dharma party leader Narawit Chaya represented the parties to submit a letter to Yingluck. Deputy PM’s Secretary General Thawat Boonfuang represented the prime minister to receive the letter.
Narawit said if the election was delayed, a suit would be filed against the Election Commission to demand compensations.
The EC has invited Yingluck to a meeting on Tuesday to discuss whether to reschedule the election.
