1,000 protesters coming from Chiang Mai
A number of 1,000 anti-government protesters from Chiang Mai are expected to join the mass rally in Bangkok on Monday, said its leader Wittaya Krongsap.
He said that some have already left the northern province by their own cars. The rest will head to Bangkok by tour buses, air and train.
He anticipated no violence due to a large number of supporters and foresaw victory to erase the "Thaksin regime".
Amnuay Khumban, a leader of protesters from Phuket, also expected huge support. A number of 14 vans left for Bangkok on Saturday night. A parallel protest will be held at the City Hall.
