SET A GOOD EXAMPLE
Ther are many people one influences. The influence can be good or it can be bad.
If one conducts his life to keep these recommendations, one is setting a good example.
Others around one cannot help but be influenced by this, no matter what they say.
Anyone trying to discourage you is trying to do so because they factually mean to harm or seeking to serve their own ends. Down deep, they will respect you.
Your own survival chances will be bettered in the long run since others, influenced, will become less of a threat. There are other benefits.
Don’t discount the effect you can achieve on others simply by mentioning these things and setting a good example in your own right.
The way to happiness requires that one set a good example for others.

Right on!
I say Mr. Taksing and PAD's leader Chamlong Srimuang sgould go to jail for their damage against this great country!
Quote:
"You know what I can't believe is people haven't noticed the 'democratic' system PAD were trying to impose is one of the causes of the French Revolution way back in 1791. There were unelected representatives of each Estate and the people had enough of this (allied with the fact they were starving due to lack of food and the inherent corruption of these representatives) They revolted in order to gain the one man, one vote democratic system operating in Thailand that PAD want to undemocratically remove.
I cannot believe so many people have been hoodwinked by a rich man trying to gain power claiming that it's for the good of the people.
I sympathise with the Thais who are sick of Government ocrruption but really, do you think this incredibly wealthy man is concerned with anything other than retaining his power and influence is supported by the elite, who are terrified of losing their power? Then again, the British seem to have swallowed David Cameron's hokum about the Tories fixing a socierty that was broken by Thatcher, she who declared there was no such thing as society. The media is a great thing for brainwashing - I should know, I work in it!
I hope young Thais try to find a third way, rejecting all these ridiculous posturing politicians. A fresh start....

Hi Thai Watcher #52, well the circus will be starting all over again shortly when the "faithfull" elect a new PM,, to the unknowing who think that Thailand's fate rests in the remaining MPs hands i say DREAM ON!, you know, i know , all it will take is a phone call from Don Thaksin and all the MP,s will sheepishly nod their heads in wonder and awe at their leaders wise choice , anyone who thinks any different should seriously think of getting urgent medical help. |

bananarepublic - "I have found a farang lawyer in bangkok who is will to take on a class action law suit."
I think you will find Law is a closed profession in Thailand and as such you cannot practice law unless you are Thai. I would seriously check his credentials.
I would also go with a Thai law firm that is well known and connected or you will spend countless millions and get nowhere. |

If Thaksin is in Cambodia it surely can be confirmed by security and immigration. Quite honestly I would have thought Thai security would be tracking his every move, after all he is a wanted man for jumping bail with a jail term pending plus other cases which should include treason.
Have they taken away his Red Passport yet or are they still to scared to do it |

Of course I care about money - what do YOU use to buy food??
I doubt you grow rice and breed fish in your backyard.
Lets see what you do when your salary gets cut or when you get laid off... I wonder if YOU will complain about the PAD then? |

News of Thaksin Shinawatra staying in Koh Kong denied by Cambodian officials
Koh Kong, Cambodia - A Police Commissioner of Koh Kong province, Lt-Col. Srey Phat, has denied rumours that former Thai PM Thaksin Shinawatra is living secretly in Koh Kong in order to follow the political situations in Thailand.
Sources from Thai newspapers reported in 1st December that Mr. Thaksin has travelled from Hong Hong to Koh Kong secretly so that he can follow political situations in Thailand closely. The reports said that Thaksin’s arrival in Koh Kong was also to inspect the constructions of his “Entertainment Complex” in Koh Kong in a joint venture with an Abu Dhabi company to develop Koh Kong into a hotel, casino and entertainment hubs.
Political analysts said that Mr. Thaksin has invested in Koh Kong before political crisis took place in Thailand and that his investments in Cambodia will not be complicated by the political situations in Thailand. But some Thai officials said that after the UK had cancelled Mr. Thaksin’s visa, only Cambodia will provide him with the asylum. But they warned Cambodia not to offer political asylum to Mr. Thaksin.
Despite the rumours of Mr. Thaksin’s arrival secretly in Koh Kong, there are no official confirmation from Cambodian officials. However, they rejected the rumours as totally untrue.//

Author#42 , quite right , just too many people in high places involved in "THAKSINS W.O.D for it to be a PAD issue , i read this morning in the "POST" that it is not beyond the realms of possibility,s that Chalerm Yubamrung could well be the new PM!, in my view if this happens then the lunatics are well and truly in charge of the asylum. |

I'm a zombie-like basket case as we've been trying to work alternatives for our supposed relaxing 10 days in Thailand since this kicked off (and we predicated it would all be over by 5th December) With my partner being made redundant last week this trip was a glimmer of light on the horizon but now he hasn't even been able to work on job applications, every spare second has been devoted to working out viable options. And we still don't know what we're going to do. So a stressful situation has been made 50 times worse in addition to having to pay more for this trip at a time we can ill afford it.
I've been determined to defy the PAD and come to Thailand - we only finally re-routed on Mon pm from our Weds flight but frankly the cost and lack of transport options means we're more likely to stay within Malaysia. Yet more tourist money draining from the Thai coffers.....
PAD my thoughts about your stupid leaders are unprintable but the fate of Edward II is tempting to imagine.... |

do the means justify the ends? perhaps the PAD leadership could come up with a platform that actually engages and attracts votes and coalition partners, rather than acting like tone-deaf, corrupt and desperate criminals. Commit yourselves to enlightening the poor uneducated masses that you Bangkok academics and elites look down upon. You despise the economic corruption of Thaksin and his cronies, yet many of the Bangkok elite aspire to moral corruption by building more luxury shopping malls and hosting Moet launch parties so they can appear in Bangkok Tatler every month! Build up your society rather than tear it apart. Wake up and look in the mirror for the problem. |

There was a case in constitution court on disclosing ruling parties. Then why PAD seized the airports and harmed to country, destroyed the image of 'land of smiles' , etc..? So why? On TV we watched PAD supporters dancing at the airports and enjoying their time..What a court did this is democracy what PAD did is very stupid that cannot be forgiven.. |

To #40 good joke, but it is too sad what the PAD did, so I can not laugh at the joke!! If you go to have a bowl of nudel at the soi, then try to pay with coconut shell, you will see how important money is!! take Mr. Taksing out of the politic is one thing, but take a person or a country, an airport, as hostage is again the law and must be punish. PAD=THAI BAHT INCINERATOR, because they can burn more money in a week than Taksing can corrupted taken from the country in 5 years of govenment terms. What Taksing take, maybe you can retrieved, but what the PAD burns it's gone with the wind!!! |

let's see.... PM only resigns because courts force him to, not because of PAD pressure. PAD sees PM resign and claims victory. Army doesn't get blood on its hands. His Majesty gets to have a peaceful birthday. Seems like every saves face! But nothing really changes. oh now i get it... same, same but different! :) |

If NOT for PAD you would still have Thaksin, who is guilty of murdering thousands of innocent fellow Thai citizens in the name of his drug war.
Tell some of the children he was responsible for killing how GREAT he is. Tell the 9 year old who wanted to become a policeman and is now dead what a great guy Thaksin is.
Money is all you think about. You ALL make me sick. All you can do is complain!! |

OK.... so now PAD is ceasing ALL demonstrations.
The case was in court hands and all they could have done was wait for a verdict, like any other first class society and situations MIGHT have been fine(r).
But no, they needed to strip our country of billions of baht, ruin our credit in the international community, hold an entire nation hostage, and damage property.
Makes me wonder if the PAD was there to INSURE the verdict. A verdict that probably isn't even an end to much anything but the start of a unspecified PAUSE.

Dear PAD,
I think you have your wish granted. Santa Clause was earlier this time. But just for you, For the rest of us, Who are 'normal' abiding citizens of the world would like to simply get to spend time with our loved ones and our family during this special season. I am begging you, (although I feel like a fool, begging a foolish person), leave the rest of the innocent people alone now. We still need to survive after you have completely ruined the country's economy and reputation. Who gets to inherit all of this, US, the abiding citizens of Thailand. Thanks for the unjustice!

To Messy and the others who only know how to complain:
Please leave our beloved land and don't come back ever! Our people are fighting for real democracy and freedom from crooked and corrupt politicians and government officials, and some of them have even been murdered by the evil authorities and their gangster followers in the process, and all you people know is how to complain. If you do not like our country just stay away. You are not welcome. |

As you can expect, there are good and bad Thai people in Thailand. PAD leaders and all protesters are certainly the bad Thai. They are simply terrorists with an illusion that they have done good for the country. It is very funny to see they cheer when the court announce the government to be dissolved. How could they claim the victory on the things they have not done. Hope this bad things done to the country return to them. |

Never mind the continuing damage to the nation resulting from PAD occupation of the two airports. Apparently PAD leaders are begging the police not to press charges re their occupation of Government House and have said they are unwilling to pay the costs for clearing the damage PADF has caused to government facilities. What sort of example of accepting responsibilty for your actions is that? |
