How to spot a farang across a crowded mall
Apropos cartoonist Stephff’s regular feature headed “You’ve been in Thailand too long if ...”, may I suggest a variation.

    Going to “Extremes”
Thai rockers Bodyslam have long been fans of American rockers Mr Big and Extreme, so much so that Bodyslam’s frontman Artiwara “Toon” Kongmalai, guitarist Thanachai “Yod” Tantrakul, bassist Tanadol “Pid” Changsawek, drummer Suchatti “Chad” Janed and keyboardist Ohm Plengkhum, were very much in evidence when the former played in Bangkok.

Offence too easily drawn out by mere newspaper cartoons
Sense of humour deficit alert! May I point out to “offended” letter writers Michael Burd and Stephen Zamel (Have Your Say, May 5) that The Nation’s Stephff does not write news articles, nor does he write opinion pieces or purport to shape global foreign policy.

A ‘free’ press is one thing, but a truthful press is entirely another
Stephff’s cartoon on May 1 about the release of Khun Somyot compels me to write. In the drawing there is a farang-looking man saying that Thailand had risen two spots in the World Press Freedom Index.

Stephff’s cartoon left Mideast history out of picture

Legitimate criticism of Israel is not anti-Semitic
Mr Lee slams your cartoonist for a cartoon which shows an Israeli gunning down Palestinians, which is exactly what the Israelis are doing. One of the Palestinians recently slaughtered by the Israelis was an unarmed, legless man in a wheelchair while another was shot in the back.
