Belt and Road is drawing China and Thailand closer together
Recently, I visited Khon Kaen, Nong Khai and Udon Thani in Thailand’s Northeast. At the Confucius Institute of Khon Kaen University, I attended the opening ceremony of the preparatory class for Thai vocational college students to study in China. I met 40 students from 15 vocational colleges in Thailand.

The Japan Foundation, Bangkok, in collaboration with the Art Centre, Silpakorn University (Wang Tha Phra) and the Art and Culture Khon Kaen University Museum are the join organisers of the international travelling exhibition “Struggling Cities: from Japanese Urban Projects in the 1960s” that runs from April 24 to May 18 in Bangkok before moving to Khon Kaen from May 31 to June 12.

Jailed democracy activist dons graduation robes at Military Circle
Graduation day for Jatupat Boonpattararaksa may come later than for others but the student activist serving jail time over politically related charges eventually got to wear his Khon Kaen University’s graduation robes on Thursday, although the were donned over a prison uniform.
