The Digital Economy Promotion Agency or depa is spearheading the development of executive management in the digital era following the successful launch of the “Digital CEO” leadership program, which has been well received now by two classes.
The successful program is now being expanded to embrace leaders in the agricultural sector, with the first “Chief of Digital Agro Business” course, which supports the development of digital technology and capacity building among top-level administrators in the agro-processing industry and related businesses of both the public and private sectors. The course has been designed to develop skills and build knowledge, as well as foster better understanding and open perspectives concerning digital applications in modern agriculture.
Dr. Nuttapon Nimmanphatcharin, President and CEO of the Digital Economy Promotion Agency or depa, revealed that the first “Chief of Digital Agro Business” course seeks to encourage executives to focus on building knowledge, understanding and skills development in setting policies, in line with the promotion of digital technology in modern agriculture.
Areas covered include advanced agricultural digital technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), use of detection systems, Big Data Management, robotics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), use of drones, cloud systems, Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR), Blockchain technology, research in biotechnology, etc., as well as the management of integrated agriculture.
Agricultural innovations are expected to play a much greater role in solving the problems faced by Thai farmers and related businesses, and will have a direct impact on administration, policies and planning in the digital society era.
In the course, more than 50 experts from the public and private sectors will look at case studies from more than 10 different domestic and overseas agencies. Participants will be able to use the knowledge gained to foster benefits at the organizational, social and national levels.
The first “Chief of Digital Agro Business” course is focused on promoting skills and knowledge, and creating understanding based upon the actual experiences of successful organizations in the country, such as Huawei, Microsoft, True Digital Park, Google Academy, DTAC, TOT Academy, the Marketing Organization for Farmers, Thai Herbal Products Co., Ltd., Digital Thailand Big Bang 2019: ASEAN Connectivity, Bio Hub ASIA Eco Agro Industrial Park, Smart Farm and the Golden Jubilee Museum of Agriculture Office (Public Organization).
The course is also expected to facilitate exchange of knowhow based on cooperation with partners in Germany through participation in Anuga 2019, a leading international trade fair for food and beverages, smart agriculture and digital technology based in Frankfurt as well as though visits to smart farms in Cologne.
Executives who have passed the training course will benefit from the knowledge and insights gained into the trends and developments happening in the world now and in the future. It will promote more effective use of knowledge, vision and leadership in integrating digital technology into modern agriculture.
