The Democrat Party

Dear Nation Readers,

Let me take time off from the campaign trail to offer some insight into how we, the Democrat Party, are preparing for the upcoming general elections. Though the actual election date is still uncertain and there are varied opinions concerning the matter, the only guarantee is … the Democrats will keep campaigning.

Campaigning doesn’t just mean candidates searching for votes, wrapped in huge garlands and travelling with large, loud entourages.

Campaigning is convincing, encouraging, inviting, visiting, learning, teaching, listening, participating and understanding. The word “campaign” has always been associated with elections; but campaigns can be for issues, rights, causes and liberties.

The Democrat Party does not believe that campaigning is confined to seeking votes. We believe campaigning is spreading knowledge and understanding to the general public, and for this, there can be no timeframe. It’s an ongoing process.

The Democrat Party has always believed that a society is only as strong as its weakest link, meaning: all members of society are entitled to laws and rights regardless of their economic and racial status. But sadly, many members of the general public do not have access, knowledge or appreciation of these rights, and that is one of our greatest concerns.

So, when I say, “The Democrats will keep campaigning,” what I mean is, we will continue spreading knowledge about current events, laws and rights to the general public, regardless of the political climate. Any society that lacks knowledge and understanding is a weak society, especially during an election period.

The Democrat Party believes a true democratic society is not only one where people have the freedom to vote. Rather, we believe a truly democratic society consists of informed, quality voters as opposed to just voter quantity.

We believe that an uninformed and uneducated vote is just as dangerous as a bought vote. So you ask, how are we preparing for the elections? We are doing what we have always been doing … campaigning.
