Komes Kwanmuang, a Democrat MP from Surat Thani, was admitted to an intensive care unit late Wednesday night after collapsing due to a chronic illness, a source said yesterday.
At 12.30am yesterday, relatives brought the unconscious Komes to Thaksin Hospital in Surat Thani town. However, his condition so worried doctors that he was later transferred into the hospital’s intensive care unit. His relatives later requested that Komes be transferred to a hospital in Bangkok, as most of the MP’s relatives were living in the capital.
The source said Komes suffers from a chronic illness, and that the recent campaign kept him from visiting the hospital for some time. The exhausting campaign may have led to his collapse.
