Professor accuses Sanan of delaying payment for survey
Published on February 4, 2005
A lecturer from Surin yesterday complained that Mahachon Party chief adviser Sanan Kachornprasart was stalling on a Bt1.9-million payment for an election survey of the Northeast.
Assoc Prof Sawat Phothiwiwat, of Surin Rajabhat University’s Faculty of Education, said the party had asked him through Prasit Junda to conduct the opinion survey.
The survey was carried out from December 30 to January 5 and the results handed to the party on January 17, but Sanan has postponed paying the fee a number of times, he said.
“So far, I have not received a single satang from the party,” Sawat said, adding that Sanan claimed that he was busy campaigning so the researcher would have to wait until after the election.
Sawat said he had given Bt2,000 to some 1,000 students, who helped in the survey, so he needed the money.
