From today onwards, the Finance Ministry's officials and political appointees are barred from being a director, advisor, executive, representative, employee or contractor of state enterprises or private companies which could pose conflict of interest to their official jobs.
Under the Code of Ethics, they can hold additional titles only by the ministry's appointment.
Permanent Secretary Satit Limpongpan said if breaching the Code, officials will be reprimanded and the violation could affect their promotion or appointment to serve other units under the ministry.
The Code also covers units under the ministry like the Bank of Thailand, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Stock Exchange of Thailand and the Auditor General's Office.
