THAKSIN'S BT76 BILLION ASSETS

Thaksin's sister sees no impact on family business

Yingluck Shinawatra, younger sister of fugitive ex-premier Thaksin, said last night (Friday) that she did not think a court verdict in the asset seizure case against her brother would have any impact on the family's business.

Now chairperson of SC Asset Corp, which is 60 per cent owned by the Shinawatra family, Yingluck said there were "no connections" between the family business and the confiscated Bt76 billion in the case.

The Supreme Court's Criminal Division for Political Office Holders is scheduled to read its verdict on Feb 26 on the case in which Thaksin is accused of gaining the Bt76 billion dishonestly.

Yingluck declined to comment on the case, saying that it was a personal matter.
