Korn paid a visit to the northeastern province to check on the registration for the refinancing scheme to convert underground loans into the banking system.
In addition to rallying in front of the provincial hall, hundreds of red shirts tried to stalk Korn though they failed to get passed the security forces.
Rally organisers said the crowds would surge to about ten thousands in the evening in light of the expected phone-in from fugitive ex-premier Thaksin Shinawatra who is presently visiting Phnom Penh.
The red-shirt leaders, slated to speak at the rally this evening, include Jatuporn Prompan, Natthawut Saikua, Kwanchai Praipana and Maj General Khattiya Sawasdipol.
