Abhisit said the King had clearly stated in his birthday speech that he would be happy only when the country is peaceful and stable, so it was the duty of all Thais to help the country bring that about.
The King desires to see all Cabinet members carry out their duties to the best of their ability, with honesty and with the public interest uppermost in mind, he said.
"I will instruct the Cabinet and all government agencies to strictly adhere to the royal remark," he said.
The King's address will be printed and distributed to all state agencies, he said.
PM's Office Minister Satit Wongnongtaey said all media outlets and radio and television stations would be directed to disseminate the King's speech every day this month.
He urged the anti-government movement to review their call for a mass rally on Tuesday even though their proclaimed aim was to display their loyalty to the King.
Senate Speaker Prasobsook Boondet said he hoped that yesterday was the beginning of a new dawn when all Thais could be happy, with all sides turning to one another in discussion.
