"They have admitted guilt," Maj General Dechawat Ramsompop, acting commissioner of Provincial Police Region 3, told a press conference yesterday.
The suspects produced the fabricated Thai official documents themselves but had to buy the bogus bills from a Cambodian investor in Koh Kong.
Sarawut and Somchai have been charged with possessing fake banknotes for use, possessing fake official seals, and document forgery, which could land them in jail for 1012 years.
Sarawut has already served time for similar charges but after completing his prison sentence, he went back to the illegal business.
"We are now investigating the case further in a bid to nail down all offenders. Available evidence suggest that the fakebanknote manufacturing base is in Cambodia," Dechawat said.
