dtac's "Do Good Deeds Every Day" CSR project wins SET Award

dtac is recognized as a listed company with innovative corporate social responsibility (CSR) as its "Do Good Deeds Every Day" project wins a SET Award in the CSR category from the SET Awards 2009 contest organized by the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET).
dtac Chief Executive Officer Tore Johnsen received the award and an honorary certificate from Deputy Finance Minister Pradit Phataraprasit who presided over the award-presentation ceremony which was part of the SET in the City 2009 fair organized at the Royal Paragon Hall on the 5th floor of Siam Paragon shopping center.
In the SET Awards 2009 contest, judges divided CSR Awards into 6 categories by market capitalization and the "Do Good Deeds Every Day" project of dtac won the award in the category of listed companies with market capitalization exceeding 10 billion baht.
For nearly two years, dtac has been conducting its CSR activities under its "Do Good Deeds Every Day" project to set good examples to other organizations. It bases its CSR activities on the three principles of doing good deeds with technology, doing good deeds with knowledge and doing good deeds with a heart and it has so far conducted over 300 CSR activities on these principles nationwide. Regarding its CSR strategy, dtac works not only with its main partners namely the Sam Nuek Rakbankerd Foundation and the Ruam Duay Chuay Kan Happy Station Radio Station but also with other organizations that share similar directions and intentions on social contribution. This has resulted in continuous and diverse activities for society.
The SET Awards contest was organized by the Stock Exchange of Thailand and the Money & Banking Magazine to honor enterprises and individuals involved in the equity market. There are 71 nominees and 29 awards this year.
The SET Awards 2009 contest includes Corporate Social Responsibility Awards (CSR Awards) which honor the listed companies that are excellent at combining their policies and business with their responsibilities for society, communities and the environment. The combination has resulted in, for example, environmental conservation campaigns, fair business, respect for rights, fair treatment to employees, responsibilities for consumers and development projects for communities and society.
