Phuket plays host to the last stop on the professional women's beach volleyball series, the Swatch FIVB World Tour, with the final games being played on the island both today and tomorrow.
The Brazilian duo Larissa Franca and Juliana Da Silva are play?ing in the Phuket Open, and will be competing race against other players from the US, Germany, Switzerland, Norway, the Netherlands, Australia, China and Japan.

Code-sharing with Air Berlin
Bangkok Airways and Air Berlin are now operating a codeshare agreement for passengers on nine weekly flights from Germany (Dusseldorf, BerlinTegel, Munich) to Bangkok. Under this code?share agreement, Bangkok Airways will connect Air Berlin's pas?sengers to Thailand's key tourist destinations of Samui, Phuket and Chiang Mai under the same flight code. The agreement is effective from this month onwards.
Bangkok Airways has similar codeshare agreements with Etihad Airways and Air France.
All that jazz
The Biggles Big Band jets into Bangkok next week for a show at the VIE Hotel on November 14 that kicks off at 7. The orchestra from Amsterdam will be performing hits from the big band era along with the songs of Frank Sinatra. The unplugged concert tickets cost Bt1,200 inclusive of an international buffet dinner.
