Windows 7 arrives in Thailand

Windows 7 arrives in Thailand

Windows 7, the new PC operating system designed to make it easier and simpler than ever before for people to do the things they want on their PC, was officially launched to the Thai public at a major event held at Siam Paragon shopping mall in Bangkok.

After more than 8 million people around the world and 100,000 in Thailand downloaded the beta-version of Windows 7 earlier this year, excitement surrounding the highly anticipated launch generated queues of people eager to be among the first in Thailand to get their hands on the real deal, many of whom had been queuing up for over 3 hours.

Highlights of the event, which runs from Saturday 31st October to Sunday 1st November, include an experience tour showcasing the benefits of Windows 7 to the public via various demonstration scenarios, a concert by the popular rock band 'Stamp' and special appearances by TV personalities Koy Ratchawin and Paul Pataraporn.

"Windows 7 is here and there has never been a better time to be a PC," said Patama Chantaruck, Managing Director, Microsoft Thailand, speaking at the launch event. "We are very excited, as are many of our customers and partners, and it's easy to see why. Under the theme of 'Your PC - simplified', Windows 7 will give the Thai public a PC experience that is more reliable, more responsive and that makes the things they do every day easier, whether working at the office, surfing the web on the go, or using their PC to enjoy gaming and multimedia."
