Two arrested for allegedly spreading rumours about King's health



Police arrested a former executive and a company staff of Securities firms in separate raids for allegedly spreading rumours about the health of the HM the King that triggered a slide in Thailand's stock market, police said.

Thai stocks .SETI plunged a combined 7.2 percent on Oct. 14-15 as rumours circulated over the health of HM the King.

First arrest was made at Liberty Building on Silom Road where police arrest Katha Pajajirayapong, a staff of KT Seamico Securities.

Police later arrested Theeranun Wipuchanun, a former executive of a Securities company at Suvarnabhumi Airport. Jeeranun just returned from a European trip. She was leaving the departure exit when she was arested.

Both will be charged with violating Article 14 of the 2007 Computer Offence Act covering the posting of false computerised information that causes harm to national security and the general public.
