The dark force is shadowing Bangkok, as Polish metal group Behemoth joins forces with Thailand's Surrender of Divinity this Wednesday.
The trio from Poland emerged in the early '90s, but not until 1995 did they release a full-length album, "Sventiveth", which became a hit across Europe.
While maintaining a raspy, brutal sound packed with harsh guitar riffs, Behemoth widened its musical scope with the follow-up, "Grom", featuring acoustic guitar, synthesiser and a female vocalist. The album gained them a wider fan base outside Europe.
"Thelema.6" in 2000 saw the group's line-up expand to four, with newcomers Novy on bass and Havoc on guitar joining vocalist Nergal and drummer Inferno.
The album was the group's first to be distributed worldwide, and heralded a marathon tour, with double bills alongside Morbid Angel and Nile.
Behemoth has performed more than 10,000 shows all over the globe and racked up 100,000 album sales. Its international hits include "Conquer All", "At the Left Hand Ov God", "As Above So Below" and "Slaves Shall Serve".
Opening for Behemoth in Bangkok, Surrender of Divinity recently performed at the Under the Black Sun Festival in Berlin and also has fans in France, Holland, Germany and South America.
