Transport Min urged to stop public van registration

Suchinda Cherdchai, president of a bus operators association, with 100 operators yesterday urged the Transport Ministry to stop the process to have all public vans registered, citing that the process has hurt a number of operators.

In the petition, she said the government had no plan to ease difficulties from the policy. She said half of the public vans have stopped business, and without supporting measures, they could totally stop the business like the train service.

The ministry earlier requires all vans operating within the 300-km radius from Bangkok to be registered.
