Actor, director, TV host and most of all one funny guy Thep Po-ngam will this Sunday realise his dream of having a live, full-scale stage show of his own with "Phud Ja Phasa Thep".

Fellow comedians like Mum Jokmok and Kotee Aramboy have sold out big scripted shows, but Thep, at 52, is going for the improvisational jugular.

"Improvisation is the key to live comedy," he says. "You have to stay alert and maintain eye contact with the audience and listen to the interaction. That and a lively dialogue with the other guests are my unique style."

Just like his comedy compatriots, though, Thep will have plenty of celebrities on hand - and his clan.

"I like to call my show a reunion party, with my family and old friends gathered onstage chatting, singing and dancing," he says.

Thep will sing with his wife and two children, and provide a rare chance to see veteran luk thung singer Plen Promdan, in whose stage act Thep performed years ago.

The stage will be bustling with dozens of musicians as well as costumed dancers.

The "reunion" extends to a once-famous comedy trio - Den, Der and Thep - and Mum Jokmok will be there too, as will rockers Moderndog, who had Thep in their 10th-anniversary concert five years ago and are now returning the favour.

Rapper Joey Boy, who co-starred with Thep in the film "Luang Phi Teng II", will perform, and RS Promotion - which is presenting the Bt20-million double-header - has added its label sexy duo, Four Mod, to the line-up.

"I've never worked with them before," Thep says of the girls, "but I hope we can click!"
