
In the appeal, it presented facts and impacts on the projects after the Central Administrative Court imposed the injunction. It also insisted that it has complied with the government's rules and regulations and has proceeded under the Constitution's Article 67.
Prajya Pinyawat, chief operating officer for the downstream petrochemical business, said the appeal aims to bolster peaceful coexistence of industrial development and local communities.
He noted that the group has promoted health and environmental promotion and cooperation with the local community in Rayong. He said that the annual health check-ups of 3,000 workers from 11 plants in Rayong throughout the past 10 years showed no sign of health problems particularly cancer.
Meanwhile, the National Cancer Institute's 2008 data showed that 0.5 per cent of Rayong residents suffered from cancers, which ranked 21st in the country.
He added that all 25 industrial projects passed environmental impact assessment (EIA), and have planned investment in pollution-reduction tools.
