Thai spikers take on Asia's best

Thai head coach Danai Sriwacharamaytakul is upbeat about his team's chances at the weeklong inaugural Asian University Women's Volleyball Championship, which kicks off tomorrow at Bangkok's Keelawes 2 Gymnasium.

"I'm quite certain we will fare well despite the fact that China are a formidable obstacle. It won't be easy against them," Danai said.

Thailand take on Mongolia at 3.30pm tomorrow, followed by Sri Lanka the day after, then China, Laos, Hong Kong and Malaysia. The top two teams from the roundrobin stage will battle it out in the final on October 11.
