Employment on the rise: Research

Thailand's employment is increasing for four consecutive months since June while, based on the National Statistical Office's report, unemployment further dropped from 1.4 per cent of workforce in June to 1.2 per cent in July, according to Kasikorn Research Centre.

The centre expected the unemployment ratio at this year's end not to exceed 1.6-1.8 per cent or 640,000-680,000 workers, compared with 520,000 of last year.

Previously, the government predicted that unemployment would reach 2.1-2.5 per cent or about 1 million workers this year.
