Kaspersky's latest security guards

Kaspersky has launched its latest antivirus products on the Thai market, including Kaspersky Antivirus 2010, Internet Security 2010 and Mobile Security 8.0.

Antivirus 2010 and Internet Security 2010 are a new generation of solutions to protect home users from IT threats, while Mobile Security 8.0 is designed to protect smart phones from all types of IT threats because confidential data is at risk in lost or stolen devices.

Kaspersky Asia-Pacific's managing director Harry Cheung said the three solutions were the company's flagship products this year and were expected to carry Kaspersky to market leadership in 2009.

Kaspersky Antivirus 2010 offers real-time automated protection from a range of IT threats. Its abilities include real-time scanning of files, web pages and e-mail messages, self-protection from malware, disabling of links to malicious websites, regular and emergency updates for constant protection, and a new feature: a Kaspersky Toolbar to warn Internet browsers about infected or unsafe websites.

Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 is designed to automatically block access to known phishing sites and block spyware intended to steal user's passwords and access codes. It also implements a virtual keyboard that enables users to enter usernames and passwords securely.

"This unique feature protects confidential data from being stolen by spyware and prevents screenshots from being taken from the virtual keyboard windows," Cheung said.

Kaspersky Mobile Security 8.0 is designed to protect against a wide range of threats facing smart phone users. For example, it has an anti-theft function in case a smart-phone is lost or stolen. Its functions, including SMS-Block, SMS-Find, SMS-Clean and SMS-Watch allow users to block or delete confidential data remotely.

Kaspersky Antivirus 2010 and Kaspersky Mobile Security 8.0 are priced at Bt690 and Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 costs Bt890.

"There are the huge opportunities in the Thai market for us. Our market here grows by more than 100 per cent per year. With our product performance and affordable price strategy, we think we can gain market leadership in Thailand this year," Cheung said.
