Add Carabao's son still off the hook over gangrape

A criminal case, in which the son of pop star Yuengyong "Add Carabao" Opakul is a suspect in the gangrape of a young girl, seems to have yet hit another obstacle with the father demanding that the public prosecution team seek more evidence.

Four years after the incident, when the unnamed victim was 13 years old, Worramant Opakul is appealing for further investigation, a practice allowed under the criminal procedural code. Police can only take action against him once the Office of the Attorney General has given its final approval.

At a party in December 2005, Worramant along with his friends Phakhawat Phanmanee and Thanasak Saengrit, who were all under the age of 18, allegedly drugged the victim, gangraped her in front of a video camera and later posted the clips on the Internet. While Phakhawat and Thanasak were prosecuted almost immediately, Worramant was only implicated on June 10 this year.

Phakhawat and Thanasak are still at large, while police have been given yet another month to gather more evidence against Worramant.
