Police seek 2 women over German man's suicide

Police seek 2 women over German man's suicide

Police are looking for two Thai women for allegedly being involved in the supposed suicide of a German expatriate in the resort city of Pattaya.

The two women were allegedly seen dragging a safe deposit box out of the home of Peter Gittel, who was later found hanging. A witness identified the women as Lamyai Lannork and Saimai Pongphrai, who jointly ran a bar next doors.

According to the witness, 55yearold Gittel had lived in Thailand for more than 30 years and rented out bars to Thai operators. However, police records show that Gittel lived in Pattaya for only about a decade and made Bt100,000 a month from the rent of bars.

In their initial inspection of the crime scene, police found no foul play in Gittel's hanging, though they are looking for the two women to question them about the missing safedeposit box.

Gittel apparently lived alone, but was reportedly sexually involved with the two women, who also kept his house but did not live with him. Investigators at the Bang Lamung police station refused to provide any more details, saying they were working on it.
