Japanese manufacturers are interested in Thai SMEs' manufacturing efficiency, SME Bank president Soros Sakornvisava said yesterday.
Soros said the auto- and electronic-parts industries were core Thai manufacturing sectors. Japanese investment in these fields in Thailand accounts for 70 per cent of the number of Japanese firms operating in the Kingdom.
"Having Thai business partners here will result in lower production costs than importing parts from other countries," he said.
Previously, the SME Bank had conducted Thai-Japanese business-matching with a focus on fashion garments and foods.
