SHARE-HOLDING CASE

PM rules out House dissolution

The share-holding decision against 13 Democrats is expected to be resolved by the judicial review and will not impact on the political stability to warrant a House dissolution, Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva said on Friday.

"The share-hold case is a lesson for lawmakers to be more careful about their investment portfolios and not a disruption on government work," he said.

Abhisit said he had no comments about the Election Commission ruling to disqualify senators and Democrats for share-holding violations.

The ruling will be scrutinised by the public prosecutors before reaching the judicial review by the Constitution Court, he said.

Although Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thuagsuban is one of the 13 Democrats involved in the case, the EC ruling has not affected the mandate to carry on the work, he said.
