EC seeks to disqualify Suthep, 12 other Democrats

Deputy Prime Minister Suthep who is also disqualified said he already has in mind what to do next. The EC's decision would not affect the government's stability.

Suthep was among 13 Democrat MPs who were found to have shares in media firms which received state concession.

"I'm not worried. I have my way out in my mind. The matter will not have effects on the government's stability," he told reporters.

The Election Commission resolved Thursday to seek a court ruling to disqualify 13 of 18 Democrat Party MPs found to have shares in media firms and firms which received state concessions.

The MPs are:

1 Suthep Thaugsuban

2 Anucha Buraphachaisri

3 Somkiart Chanthawanit

4 Sarawut Onlamai

5 Thienchai Suwanphet

6 Narisa Adithepworaphan

7 Samphan Thongsamak

8 Juti Krairirk

9 Jua Ratchasee

10 Lapsak Lapharojanakij

11 Nipha Pringsulaka

12 Trairong Suwankhiri

13 Chalermlak Kebsup

The EC will submit the list to the House speaker, who will in turn pass it on to the Constitution Court for a ruling.
