Former top judge dies

Prasert Nasakul, a former president of the Constitution Court, who found ousted PM Thaksin Shinawatra guilty in a share concealment case in mid-2001, died of heart disease at 78 yesterday.

Praying ceremonies will be held for five days at Wat That Thong until Monday. The royal-sponsored cremation will be held on Tuesday at 4pm.

Prasert was the second Constitution Court chief. He was one of the seven judges on the top court, out of 15, who ruled that Thaksin was guilty in the 2001 share concealment case.
