Cabinet considers cost-of-living measures at next meeting

The Cabinet on Tuesday will consider extending the cost-of-living reduction measures, which would be expired at the end of this month.

Finance Minister Korn Chatikavanij said that the ministry may review the fuel excise taxes, following the recent decreases in global oil prices, to reduce the financial pressure on the public and businesses.

"The fuel excise tax ceiling would be maintained at Bt10 per litre, but the ceiling and imposed rates are different. The rates could be imposed in accordance with the situation," he said.
