Gwyn Sundhagul, Director and Chief Marketing Officer, Tesco Lotus, said, "We are naturally concerned about the recent influenza outbreak in Thailand and are doing everything we can to be sensible and help our employees and our customers contain this disease. Internally, we are educating our staff and implementing the UK's standard for influenza prevention. We are making sure that the public areas in every store are cleaned more frequently with anti-infection sanitised cleansers. For our customers we have set out to help them help themselves with specially developed sanitised kits at Tesco Lotus prices".
Reinforcing its long-term commitment "Rau Sai Jai Khun" (Every Little Helps), the sets are retailed at Bt35. It contains hand gel for regular hand washing even without water, sanitary wipes for cleaning skin or surrounding areas and a mask to cover the mouth and nose if concerned that others or yourself may be developing flu symptoms. Customers can be assured of quality, comparable to leading brand products, as the sanitized kits were produced by standard factories with GMP certification, ISO9001, BRC and Sedex.
Tesco Lotus also implements an anti-A(H1N1) scheme at all of its stores to assure customers of hygienic standards. All stores, especially public areas, toilets and shopping carts, are now cleaned more frequently and toilet soap has been replaced with 100% anti-infection products. Tesco Lotus has also educated employees on flu prevention and keeps a close watch on any employees who display symptoms.
