PM defends Buri Ram visit

Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva on Friday reminded Democrat MP Suthas Ngernmuen that his opposition to the Buri Ram visit is unjustified because it is about inspecting the government work and not campaigning.

"I believe Suthas will eventually understand and distinguish between the party affairs and the government work," Abhisit said.

He said he saw no reason for Suthas threatening to quit since the Democrat Party had no plans to allow the Bhum Jai Thai Party to take the campaigning lead in the Northeast.

The talks about colluding with faction leader Newin Chidchob was groundless and the Democrats would not let anybody taking over their Isaan constituents, he said.
