"I Love Thailand"

"I Love Thailand"

If you're a fan of Hi5, MySpace, Multiply or Facebook, you might want to check out a new website where you can personalise your space, have your own network, plus show your love for the country.

Tomorrow, Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva is launching the "I Love Thailand" project, which includes the website www.iLoveThailand.org - an online community promoting national unity.

PM's Office Minister Satit Wongnongtaey, in charge of the project, said the "I Love Thailand" project will include activities and events for people around the country to join.

"I Love Thailand" signs will be distributed to those joining the campaign. Foreigners can also join, Satit said.

"What can you do to show your love for the country?" is a key question of the project.

Answers can be posted on the website in the form of articles, messages, pictures and videos.

Prime Minister's deputy secretarygeneral Panitan Wattanayagorn, said the government would then pick up the best of the ideas posted and implement them.

After signing up for membership, the website's users get access to a forum, polls, live chat and instant messenger facilities, allowing them to chat with friends from anywhere in the world.

The website also features music videos of songs with patriotic themes, like "Bang Rachan", "King of Kings" and "Rak Kan Wai Terd" ("Let's Love Each Other").

Also worth checking out is a gallery of photographs of Old Thailand, some showing Bangkok when it still had trams. In amongst them are beautiful scenes of modernday life in the country.

Messages so far posted include "Thais need to love each other", and "Please show kindness to one another".

The loveandharmony theme also stretches to downloadable games like Magic Academy, Pantheon, 10 Talismans and Chuzzle.
