Pradit wants Wanchai to stay

Separately, Deputy Finance Minister Pradit Pataraprasit said yesterday that he wished Wanchai Surakul remained as director-general of the Government Lottery Office, despite reported conflicts between Wanchai and the office's chairman, Sathit Limpongpun.

He said he has not yet talked with Wanchai, adding that both Wanchai and Sathit are dedicated to their works. Despite their different opinions on the online lottery scheme, they could be convinced to sit down at the same table.

Wanchai tendered his resignation on Thursday.

"Wanchai did not commit a wrongdoing and then why he should leave. Though there were some conflicts at the board's meeting, that was because both of them wanted to complete their jobs. Let's see if there would be any problem at the second meeting on July 10."
