Snoh not yet committed to lead Pheu Thai Party

Pracharaj Party leader Snoh Thienthong on Wednesday admitted he was approached to lead the Pheu Thai Party and said he needed time to finalise his decision.

"I think the issue is sensitive and in need of further discussion," he said.

Snoh said opposition figures invited him to reunite with the main opposition party which is an offshoot of the disbanded Thai Rak Thai Party which he was one of the founding members.

He said ex-premier Thaksin Shinawatra was not involved in the talks and the two had not kept in touch.

"I believe the invitation issued to me was done by Pheu Thai members who felt a lack of warmth within the party and wanted a senior figure to care for them," he said.

He said the people's voice would be crucial to help him making up his mind since he had no personal ambition to reunite with the main opposition party.
