Body Fashion workers seek PM's help

Over 100 employees of Body Fashion (Thailand) Ltd, the manufacturer of Triumph-branded lingeries, submitted a complaint to Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva seeking for legal protection.

Body Fashion earlier announced the layoff of 1,930 employees.

Led by Boonsueb Kuanfung, the labour union's leader, the employees said that the company did not follow the employment law in terminating the jobs. Some employees are entitled to special compensation. Though the compensations should be paid immediately, the company announced that it would pay the compensations in August, Boonsueb said.
