An unidentified Thai man in his 40s caused panic among passengers of a THAI flight from Ubon Ratchathani to Suvarnabhumi Airport yesterday morning when he freaked out and tried to open an emergency exit.

The plane had been in the air for 10 minutes when he started screaming and leapt towards the emergency exit. Passengers and flight crew held him down, while former Si Sa Ket MP Dr Jaturong Phengnorraphat talked to the man to calm him. He may have mental problems that caused him to crack under the stress of flying, said Jaturong later.
