Participating plants will receive funding ranging from 20-50 per cent of the cost of biogas production technology, Energy Minister Wannarat Charnnukul said yesterday.
The second year targets 69 plants, consisting of 13 tapioca flour mills, 11 palm plants, four ethanol plants, four rubber plants, and 37 canned food plants.
They are expected to produce a combined 114.7 million cubic metres of biogas per year.
The 39 biogas plants from the first year of the project beginning last year can produce 217.3 million cubic metres per year, which can substitute for conventional energy worth Bt1.39 billion per year.
