SMEs clamouring for a piece of the Piesoft

Piesoft targets a doubling of revenue to Bt20 million this year, thanks to brisk demand from SMEs for its ready-to-use Web pages.

Managing director Supayot Sirichamroonvit yesterday said the company debuted three years ago developing ready-to-use e-commerce Web pages to serve SMEs wanting to put up a homepage in cyberspace quickly, in order to sell their products and services.

Piesoft promotes its business through its own homepage at www.makewebeasy.com.

SMEs do not need to possess hi-tech skills, because they can easily post products or services on the company's available pages at a cost ranging from Bt3,000 a year for a simple page to Bt20,000 for a feature-rich page. The economic slowdown has actually contributed to the company's success, because SMEs can pay Bt3,000 a year to establish a presence in the Internet market place.

The company expects its client base to reach 6,000 this year, from 4,000 now. More than 90 per cent of its clients are SMEs and the rest state agencies.

The company's website has the second-largest share in the ready-to-use page market, he said.

It has been promoted by popular websites and magazines.

Clients are willing to pay because they can generate a higher return on investment, including the chance to receive advertising banners from sponsors, besides selling their own products. Piesoft will also promote the e-commerce websites of its clients on high-traffic websites like Google, Sanook and Yahoo via search-engine optimisation, which will bring clients' websites to the top of search results.

The keys to success for ready-to-use Web-page developers are Web-page design, good content and online marketing, he said.

Piesoft is one of the companies participating in the Career Festival to be held from June 19-21 at Central Bang Na.
