CONSUMERS' BENEFITS

KBank extends assistance to clients

Kasikornbank launched two measures to help its clients, by allowing mortgage borrowers to reduce their monthly instalment by 40 per cent and waiving fees for utility bill payments. The measures will stay in place until June 2010.

Prasarn Trairatvorakul, president of the bank, said that the measures are to reduce the public financial burden, as these payments concern most consumers, and to be in line with the government's policy to have financial institutions help the public.

The mortgage borrowers whose mortgage loans are below Bt2 million will benefit the most, as the bank considers that they account for a majority of housing loan borrowers. New clients are also eligible for the special offer.
