Police lose their man

Following a brief car chase, an alleged British drug-trader narrowly escaped into a forest near Pattaya, leaving two accomplices to be arrested, police said yesterday.

A search found ice, cocaine and marijuana in the suspect's rented house.

Following a tip-off that the suspect, Troy Curtis, would deliver drugs in Pattaya, police chased and surrounded the man, who was in a car with two Thai female passengers, said Colonel Teerapol Jindaloung.

Curtis crashed the car through the police cordon and drove off, later leaving the vehicle and making his way on foot into the forest. The two women denied any wrongdoing and said they had no knowledge of any drug-dealing.
